Minimum one week is labelled language
If LYRICA is discontinued, taper gradually over a minimum of one week rather than stop abruptly. That sentence is for ordinary stops: fog, edema, a planned switch. It is not a suggestion.
A clinician can stretch the taper longer after months at 300 or 600 mg/day. This scan will not publish a homemade 25 mg calendar from a forum.
Puffy socks are a call, not a cliff
Mild symmetric swell with easy breathing is a watch and a call. It is not a reason to throw the bottle out at midnight. Edema scan and edema watch.
Rapid weight with breathlessness is a same-day call. The clinician may drop the day or stop with a plan.
When you do stop immediately
Angioedema with face, mouth, or neck swell, especially with breathing trouble, means stop now and get emergency care. Hypersensitivity with hives and wheeze is the same door.
Use the angioedema scan for that door. Do not taper through a closing throat.
A Friday gap is a calendar, not a taper
Schedule V refills can sit in review over a long weekend. Plan the fill before you run out. Borrowing a friend's 75 mg to stretch 150 is unprescribed controlled medicine and uneven days.
Uneven days feel like withdrawal and look like misuse at the counter. Schedule V scan and the flag split that hygiene.
What people reported after a rapid halt
Insomnia, nausea, headache, anxiety, hyperhidrosis, and diarrhea showed up after abrupt or rapid discontinuation. Those are labelled symptoms, not a moral failing.
Seizure patients can seize more often if an antiepileptic is yanked. If pain was the only indication, a supervised hold is still safer than a sink dump tonight.
Taper tag after the minimum week
No cold stop. One week minimum. Immediate halt for angioedema. Panel: pregabalin panel.
