Does Lyrica 150 mg cause ankle swelling?

Last reviewed · 3 min read · Updated

Bone review card, cobalt edge, lime chip: ankle swelling cloth

Yes. Peripheral edema showed up in 6 percent of Lyrica-treated adults versus 2 percent on placebo. Withdrawals for edema were 0.5 percent versus 0.2 percent. A 150 mg start still gets the watch; 'only the beginning dose' is not a skip. Symmetric sock marks are this job. Face, tongue, or throat swell is angioedema and emergency care. Two-week logs and the glitazone table live on edema watch, not as a clone here.

Six versus two is the labelled adult cut

The warning is peripheral edema, not 'rare trivia.' Short trials in people without important heart or vessel disease did not tie that edema to new hypertension or new heart failure. That is a different population than someone already on a loop diuretic.

Edema was not tied to lab signals of failing kidneys or liver in those short looks. Still draw when the clinician wants a baseline. Do not invent a creatinine story from pitting alone.

One hot calf is not the labelled picture

Asymmetric heat, redness, and calf pain after a flight is clot territory until proven otherwise. The capsule can throw symmetric fluid. The flight can throw a clot. Urgent assessment beats a home diuretic.

Do not add leftover furosemide from a cousin's heart-failure bottle. Loop diuretics have their own electrolyte card. Ask the prescriber who owns both lists.

Glitazone stack without cloning the table

Pioglitazone or rosiglitazone plus pregabalin raised edema reports versus either drug alone in the diabetic-neuropathy safety pool. Combined percents and the 23/120 cut sit on edema watch.

If both drugs are on your list, the ankle watch is not optional. This scan will not reprint that safety-pool table.

Socks versus face: two doors

Symmetric sock marks and rings that stick with easy breathing are the edema watch. Swelling of face, mouth (tongue, lips, gums), or neck (throat, larynx) is angioedema. Stop the capsule and use emergency care if breathing is in doubt.

The angioedema scan owns that door. Do not log a thickening tongue for two weeks.

Why 150 mg does not skip the socks

Adult labelled starts are often 150 mg/day. Frequency in some tables rose with dose. Starting dose is still a dose. Measure something in week two so week eight has a baseline.

Panel opening already treats 150 as a split start. This scan only asks whether the shins changed after that start. Pregabalin panel.

Edema tag without a cliff

Yes, ankles can swell. Six versus two. Do not stop cold for mild symmetric puff. Taper scan. Control context: misuse flag.

Yuki Tanaka tags sock marks after section 5.7 and sends the long log to the signal.

Nell C., Tacoma Why not paste the 19 percent glitazone number here?

Board reply

That cut already lives on edema watch. This scan's job is the yes, the 150 mg start, and the face-versus-sock door. Cloning the signal fails the board.

Zelda F., Asheville Puffy at day 10. Stop the 150 tonight?

Board reply

Do not cliff-stop for mild symmetric puff with easy breathing. Log weights and call. Rapid gain or breathlessness is a same-day call. Face or tongue swell is emergency care.

Omar Y., Peoria Only the left ankle is hot after a flight.

Board reply

That is not the usual Lyrica picture. Seek care for a clot workup. Do not raise pregabalin and do not add leftover Lasix.
