Does Lyrica 150 mg list angioedema?

Last reviewed · 3 min read · Updated

Bone review card, cobalt edge, lime chip: swelling caution at the face cloth

Yes. Lyrica lists angioedema: swelling of the face, mouth (tongue, lips, and gums), and neck (throat and larynx). Life-threatening cases with respiratory compromise have needed emergency treatment. Stop LYRICA immediately if those symptoms appear. Prior angioedema and ACE-inhibitor use raise caution. Reports came in early treatment and later. Symmetric sock marks are a different door on the edema scan and edema watch.

What the warning actually names

Postmarketing reports arrived during initial treatment and during chronic treatment. This is not only a first-week story. Specific sites: face, tongue, lips, gums, throat, larynx.

Discontinue immediately. Do not taper through a closing throat. The one-week taper rule is for ordinary stops, not this door. Taper scan.

Do not log a tongue for two weeks

Symmetric sock marks with easy breathing can be the labelled edema watch. A thickening tongue, lip, or neck is not that watch. Photographs of shins help a triage nurse. Photographs of a closing throat waste minutes.

Stuck rings alone are not angioedema. Rapid facial change with voice change or stridor is. Use the emergency door.

Hives and wheeze are the hypersensitivity cousin

LYRICA is contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or its components. Hypersensitivity reactions (hives, dyspnea, wheezing) have occurred. That is also a stop-and-get-care door.

A dye itch on a generic shell can be an excipient story. Throat tightness is not an excipient story you watch at home. Generic scan.

After emergency care, the bottle stays shut

Do not restart 150 mg from the nightstand because the swelling eased in the ambulance bay. The clinician who saw the episode owns the restart decision. Prior angioedema is a caution on any later pregabalin plan.

Schedule V leftovers still need a locked drawer. Misuse flag. Children find leftover capsules.

ACE-inhibitor caution on the same list

Exercise caution if the person already had angioedema from any cause. People on ACE inhibitors may be at increased risk of developing angioedema with pregabalin.

Name both drugs at the visit. This scan will not set an ACE switch. It will say: swelling of the tongue on that pair is emergency care, not a 'maybe the new blood-pressure tablet.'

Angioedema tag after the stop

Yes, listed. Face, mouth, neck. Stop now. ACE-inhibitor caution. Socks are another card. Panel: pregabalin panel.

Board thread

Answers follow the U.S. Lyrica label.

Cora N., Rapid City Ankles puffed. Is that angioedema?

Board reply

Symmetric sock marks with easy breathing are the edema watch, not angioedema. Face, tongue, or throat swell is the emergency door. See edema watch for the ankle log.

Willa T., Grand Rapids Lips tingle an hour after the first 150. Wait it out?

Board reply

Lip or tongue swell with breathing change is emergency care. Mild tingling without swell can still be a same-day call. Do not take the next capsule until a clinician says so.

Ezra L., Savannah I take lisinopril. Is 150 mg banned?

Board reply

Not automatically banned. Caution is labelled because ACE inhibitors plus pregabalin may raise angioedema risk. The clinicians who own both lines should know. Seek emergency care if the face or throat changes.
