How the next swallow still wants a meal
Resume 850 with food when you take the next prescribed dose. A late remembered tablet on an empty commute recreates the food-scan fail.
Frequency - once versus twice - does not change the no-extra rule. See how often 850 is taken if the written plan itself is unclear.
When a miss is actually a sick day
Fever, trauma, infection, or surgery can change how much diabetes medicine you need. Tell the clinician. Pushing 850 through a day you cannot keep water down is a lactic-acidosis counselling moment.
Dehydration from vomiting or diarrhea is named in the same guide as a higher-risk setting. That is not 'I forgot,' even if you also forgot.
What a doubled 850 is not fixing
A1C lag does not improve because you stacked yesterday and today. Onset weeks stay on the onset scan.
Duration hours stay on the cover scan. Neither clock asks for a make-up pile.
Hypoglycemia is uncommon with metformin alone. Stacking two 850s still is not a labelled catch-up, even if the meter looks high.
Why tomorrow does not get two 850s
Do not take an extra dose the next day. Catch-up arithmetic is how guts that just settled get a second hit.
If the written plan is 850 twice daily and you missed the morning, the evening swallow is still one tablet with a meal unless you were told to hold.
Where overdose goes if the extra already happened
If too much Glucophage was taken, call the clinician, Poison Control, or emergency care. That line is in the same Medication Guide paragraph set.
Board-check: next prescribed dose, no extra tomorrow, sick-day is other work. The 850 panel does not invent a catch-up stair.
What the guide says to do with a forgotten 850
If you miss a dose of Glucophage or Glucophage XR, take your next dose as prescribed unless your healthcare provider tells you differently. The sentence does not say 'take two when you remember.'
People invent a noon second 850 after a skipped breakfast tablet. That invented extra is the extra dose the guide forbids the next day, just moved earlier.
