How much metformin does this page follow?

Bone review card, cobalt edge, lime chip: 850 lock, 500 and 1000 aside

850 milligrams. Immediate-release Glucophage. That is the strength these scans review. The US IR line also lists 500 mg and 1000 mg tablets. Pediatric starts use 500 mg twice daily toward a 2000 mg divided day. XR uses other daily ceilings. Those facts exist so nobody thinks 850 is the only tablet in the country. They do not move this board off 850.

Why 850 was the strength this set picked

Adult labelling allows 850 mg once daily with meals as a start, then 850 mg every two weeks if glucose and gut allow. That makes 850 a mid rung people actually hold in the bottle.

Neighbor sites in this network review other metformin presentations. This Toronto board stays on 850 IR so the SERP line and the swallow line agree.

Which other IR tablets the label still lists

Five hundred and 1000 mg film-coated tablets sit on the same Glucophage IR list. Pharmacies fill those when written. This URL will not pretend they vanished.

A 1000 mg IR tablet is not 'two 850s.' Arithmetic belongs to the prescriber. Do not split a 1000 to mimic this lock unless a clinician said so.

Where the stairs live once the 850 is named

Meal stairs: GI titration. Long-course vitamin: B12 flag. This page only answers how much metformin the set reviews.

Board-check: 850 IR. Name the other strengths. Do not wander into a full monograph on this URL.

Inactive ingredients on Glucophage 850 mg include povidone, magnesium stearate, and a hypromellose coat. Those names do not move the milligram lock.

What 'this board locks 850' means in milligrams

Titles, H1s, and the three descriptions on this cluster stay on Glucophage 850 mg IR. A reader who needs 500 mg twice daily as a quieter start still gets that labelled option named. The reviewed tablet remains 850.

The metformin panel uses the same 850 lock. Scans inherit it. They do not invent a 750 or a 6 mg story.

What the start line writes next to this 850

500 mg twice daily or 850 mg once daily, with meals. Both are legal openings. Locking 850 does not forbid the 500 start when the gut is already loud.

How the climb proceeds from 850 is the titration scan. How often the tablet is taken is once or twice daily.

How XR stays off this lock on purpose

Extended-release products have a swallow-whole rule and a 2000 mg usual daily ceiling. Crushing XR to 'make 850 IR' is a fail. File XR on the comparison scan.

Generic IR 850 still belongs here. Generic XR does not. Check the vial for release type before you argue with the lock.

Board thread

Answers follow the U.S. Glucophage label.

Quynh L., Orlando Why does every title on these scans say 850?

Board reply

So the reviewed strength and the search line match. 500 and 1000 still exist on the label.

Marisol E., Sacramento Does locking 850 mean I cannot be written 500 mg?

Board reply

No. 500 mg twice daily is a labelled adult start. This set still reviews the 850 tablet. Your script can be 500 if that is what was chosen.

Benno R., Hartford Is 850 mg the maximum?

Board reply

No. The IR ceiling is 2550 mg per day in divided doses. That job is the ceiling scan.
